Dancing Hands is part of our HEAL series, which invites artists to use drawing as a form of therapy—finding inner peace and regulating emotions through creative expression.
Together, we embody the non-linear creative process. Curated music becomes the catalyst for whole-body, ambidextrous gestures, guiding us through the fluid stages of creativity. Kinetic awareness helps participants identify and articulate blockages, patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. This process empowers individuals and the collective to reach new levels of authentic creative expression.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
An opportunity to take your inner artist on a date
Articulate creative blockages, patterns and strengths.
Find your authentic creative expression
Being part of an art community
WHAT TO BRING?
Curiosity
Water Bottle/ Snacks
Bring your preferred drawing materials, such as sketchbooks, pencils, erasers, charcoal, or ink pens. Although we do provide guests with all of these, we have a limited amount, so it's a good idea to pack a range of supplies, allowing you to experiment with different techniques and styles. We always provide paper and drawing boards.
Facilitator:
Alexandra Aristera is a certified Expressive Arts Facilitator specializing in whole-brain creativity. Her background as a lead textile designer for Chanel, Lululemon, Berluti, Celine and contributing product designer at House of Dior, Louis Vuitton and Pierre Hardy did not prepare her for the levels of creativity she has now been able to access through this process.
A big part of this growth process involved being trained and mentored by Lucia Capacchione. A renowned whole-brain art therapist, best selling author of “ The Power of the other hand ”. Alexandra’s profound experience in participating in this whole brain integration made her realize the life changing power it has both personally and professionally. A few years ago, her life was transformed by a neuro process of reclaiming her birth hand, her left hand. She came to understand the impact and application of bridge work between the analytical left brain and the creative right brain.
Deeply inspired, she dedicated this past year to additional research to develop a signature 2 hour workshop “ Connecting the dots ”.
Integrating her 15 years as a lead textile designer, living the profound impacts of brain rewiring, she is excited and moved to share this method, witnessing over and over again with her clients its creative power.
